Amber Alert systems have a high reach, broadcasted through television, radio, road signs, and cell networks. Since 2013, the systems can also appear on wireless phones as the system leverages a wireless emergency alert program. The Amber Alert systems have helped over 1000 families who got their children back over the years. Its creation dates back to 1996 and carries the name of Amber Hagerman, a girl from Texas who was riding a bicycle and later kidnapped and killed.
